Sunrise and sunsets offer the best colors but a side lighting will offer better textures. I didn’t have the benefit of a sunset or sunrise but I did have a slight side lighting which helped with the textures and draw out the lines.

The setup:

Not much to report side light from the sun cropped and processed in LR to add some contrast. That’s about it. I wanted everything in focus so I used F/18 and I always like to shoot hand heald between 1/125 – 300.
